“Densinistas vs. NIMBYs” in Seattle Municipal Election

A commentary published in the Seattle’s Crosscut.com examined the positions of candidates in the city’s upcoming municipal elections on increased development and density. The article, titled Densinistas vs. NIMBYs: Where do city candidates lie?, is based on responses to questions that were submitted to the candidates.
While some benefits of development were described, such as the ability to promote economic development and provide more vibrant cultural amenities, some candidates described the need for the planning process to be more inclusive, involve more community members, and be more sensitive to neighbourhood concerns.
